After many years of conservation a permanent home is planned for the Mary Rose warship. Our practice was one of four competition finalists for the design of this $40 million facility, bringing together the remains of the ship with the thousands of artifacts discovered during its salvage.

Our proposal places the Mary Rose at the heart of the museum. Artifacts are displayed in a three level Collections Gallery aligning exactly with the main decks. A series of projecting balconies enable visitors to experience the ship at close quarters while maintaining an uninterrupted view of its entire length. The design also includes supporting displays on 'harbour life' and marine archaeology.
