This proposal was submitted in an open competition organized by the Atlantic City Boardwalk Holocaust Memorial organization. The Memorial will be sited on an existing 40 x 60 feet seafront platform.
Our concept uses the square, circle and golden section, as components of humanist geometry, to locate each element of the design and define the central gathering space. The steel-framed trapezoid walls, derived from the central section of a six-pointed star, are clad in aluminum panels. These are cast with a pattern of six million interlocking facets, one for each victim of the Holocaust.
