Bootle Town Hall, near Liverpool, is a famous local landmark. Built in 1886, the Town Hall contained a local museum until its closure in 1970.
Our proposal for a new museum creates additional display areas to present the original collections and contemporary themes describing the recent history of Bootle. The design also includes spaces for community use, arts workshops and temporary exhibition areas, providing a major cultural hub for this deprived inner city neighborhood.
The final design was presented to the local authority client as a masterplan for phased implementation.
