Located within the Bank of England's historic headquarters in Threadneedle Street, London, the museum comprises three parts: an accurate reconstruction of John Soane's 1793 Bank Stock Office, destroyed during the rebuilding of the Bank in the 1930's; new display galleries describing the Bank's history from its founding to the present day; and a gold display within a rotunda designed by Herbert Baker.
The museum received the City Heritage Award and Stone Federation Award for outstanding craftsmanship.
